About Jo Dafforn
Jo is a Clinical Specialist in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy with over 25 years of experience across Women’s and Men’s Health, Jo is a dedicated clinician and educator whose passion is making complex pelvic health issues understandable and treatable.
A strong advocate for education, Jo holds a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy and an MSc in Pelvic Rehabilitation. Alongside her clinical practice, she serves as a Postgraduate Tutor for the Association of Pelvic, Obstetric & Gynaecology Physiotherapists, helping shape the next generation of specialists.
After graduating from Southampton University (BSc Hons in Phsyiotherapy) and earning her MSc in Pelvic Rehabilitation, Jo spent 15 years honing her craft in major London teaching hospitals, eventually heading up the Women’s Health service at Imperial College Healthcare. She also gained valuable experience working in New Zealand’s public healthcare system.
For the past 11 years, Jo has been a driving force in the private sector with Nuffield Health, where she leads a network of over 60 Specialist Pelvic Health Physiotherapists. If there’s a pelvic health question, Jo probably has the answer!
Her special powers lie in helping women with common but often un-talked-about issues like bladder/bowel troubles, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and chronic pelvic pain. And for all the new parents out there, she offers the popular ‘Mummy MOT’ service, providing tailored rehabilitation to help mums recover fully from pregnancy and birth.
When she’s not at the clinic, Jo maintains an active lifestyle. You might find her playing grass court tennis or getting her hands dirty on her allotment.
She keeps up her own strength as a pupil of equipment Pilates, although she confesses to asking for “plenty of rest” to survive those challenging sessions!
